Mavericks: Life stories and lessons of history's most extraordinary misfits by Jenny Draper

While only tentatively fitting the theme of short stories, since all the stories are of real people and there is a considerable number of sources cited at the back of the book, this was a fantastically fun read.

The writing was light-hearted and laugh-out-loud funny, the characters picked were vividly drawn and personable. I was impressed by the mix of men and women as well as people of colour and lgbtq representation. For a history book, it was refreshing not to be drowning in old white men. As an extra added bonus, the chapters were delightfully short too.

A fun little read which furnished me with many useless fun facts for every occasion. 8/10
