The Boomerange Clue (or "Why didn't they ask Evans?" by Agatha Christie

Ahhh, after last month's epic, this is just what I needed. One of a few standalone mysteries by the queen of mystery, this is a cracking little book. This is definately one of her better ones, but so little known without a Piorot or Marple to do the investigation. I loved the duo of Frankie and Bobby and how their amateur sleuthing both nearly cost them their lives and brought them together. The mystery was pretty intricate and, unlike some of her books where I've worked out the whodunnit pretty quickly, this one took me along for the ride.
It did lag a bit in the middle, and I found myself wishing for a narrator with a rich plumy accent to read it to me. That was the part of the book that I fell asleep while reading a couple of times. Opps!
