Additional Review alpha - Is this really the best one?
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

It's Agatha Christie - I enjoyed it. However, I would not say it was the best Agatha Christie I have ever read. The premise of this story is a group of individuals lured to a remote island where their crimes are read aloud and then they are murdered one after another until 'then there were none".
I found the death after death after death a bit oppressive. I would rather have one or two and spend the time trying to figure out the whodunnit in a more traditional manner. Or even a more modern serial killer book where you don't know when or if another death is coming. It also led to some characters who were more caricature than fully fleshed out, this was especially true of the early deaths - but proliferated among all of them.
I did enjoy the end where the two police officers where trying to figure out who it was in the end. Best part.
It did have a previous title with the n word in it which has obviously been updated. I don't blame Agatha for that as in the 1930's that was considered socially normal - I don't think she was any more or less racist than any other person at that time. I actually have more concerns that it took the publisher until the 1980's to revise the name and the book.
