Additional Review H - Do we still like vampires in 2025?

Dead as a Doornail (Sookie Stackhouse #5) by Charlaine Harris

For some reason I never got to the Sookie Stackhouse series back in the 00's when they came out. I'm not sure why as I was full into other vampire series' (yes I read Twilight). So when the whole series popped up at the YMCA book box I couldn't resist. I made it to book five, borrowing one after another, before the rest of the books had gone. I might listen to some more if I can find them on libby. I might not. I guess that tells you a lot about my feelings about this series.

This was one of the better ones and included a mystery, some favourite returning characters and the usual in depth descriptions of Sookie's odd sartorial choices.

I think I still like vampire fantasy more than the romantasy books that are in vogue right now. This was fun and included no problematic consent. (Or sex at all in this particular book).

All the ingredient of a decent enough book were there. 6/10
