Additional Review I - No more fish in the sea?

Back-slide by Nora Dahlia

Thank you Goodreads and Gallery Books for the ARC of Back-slide.

I am in the prime millennial demographic for this book, and I enjoyed the scenes from the dim and distant past (the 90's). In fact the flashbacks and the teenage romance sections were fantastic. I also enjoyed the female friendships in the modern era, the wine country setting, the funny scenes where our protagonist really cannot handle edibles and the snarky dialogue was great.

I just can't get behind 'Noah was THE ONE and we never got over each other', he was a bit of a dick yeah but it was understandable and just something you move on from and get on with your life. In the words of Tim Minchin "If I didn't have you, I'd probably have someone else". Maybe Nora could have had some scenes in between the 90's and now to show the continuation of feelings?

Other books in this genre such as One Day by David Nicholls and Heated Rivalry by Rachael Reid - manage this long time relationship well.

It was good enough that I would read another book by Nora Dahlia but I found it hard to suspend my disbelief at the depth of their feelings after such a big time jump.

Fun writing despite my issue with the plot. Very Readable 6/10
